CARLY GUY 
MAKE-UP ARTIST & HAIRSTYLIST

Carly is a freelance Make-up Artist and Hair Stylist based in London. Working predominantly in film, TV, commercials and music. She is confident within areas of hair and makeup of all skin and hair types, as well as FX and contemporary styles.

This year Carly has joined the High-end TV Leaders of Tomorrow programme with ScreenSkills, a three-year programme focused on providing comprehensive and tailored support to mid-level professionals working in High-end TV. Restless film, Carly's most recent HMUA feature length design role, has been selected to show at TriBeCa 2024. Starring Lyndsey Marshal, Aston MCauley and Barry Ward. Written & directed by Jed Hart and produced by Haus Pictures. The film will be rolled out across major cinemas from April 2025.

She has supervised many times for HMUA Designer Siobhan Harper Ryan. Most notably on SKY Atlantic show “I Hate Suzie Too” Starring Billie Piper (Scoop, Doctor Who) , written by Lucy Prebble (Succession, Secret Diary of a Call Girl) and produced by Bad Wolf. Carly supported the designer and team as well as having her own cast to prepare for set each day. Carly was already familiar with a lot of the core cast as she was Billie’s main standby on set for the first series “I Hate Suzie”. Working alongside designer Siobhan to get Billie ready for set each day.

Carly also leads in commercial and music promo on jobs such as Dulux and Lego. For band Foals track “Wake me Up” which won NME best video in 2022. Carly also works in large teams for high budget adverts most notably she was part of the hair and makeup team for the Nike World Cup Advert 2022. HMUA Co-designed by Eve Coles and Bianca Scott and featuring many football celebrities.

She enjoys either working alone or in a team. Possessing a willingness to work positively with other crew, actors and talent to create imagery with impact and quality.

Carly was nominated and won the Best Hair and Make-up Award for short film "The Date" at Southampton International Film Festival 2017, one of her early projects.
